Anaheim Chilli Peppers

Green Anaheim peppers are a mild chili variety, typically ranging from 500 to 2,500 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). They are long (6-10 inches), slightly curved, and have a smooth, deep green skin when unripe, turning red as they mature. Anaheim peppers have a mild, slightly sweet, and earthy flavor with a gentle warmth, making them popular for roasting, stuffing, and sauces.

    • Mild Heat – Their low spice level makes them ideal for a chili jam that’s flavorful but not too hot, appealing to a broad audience.

    • Slight Sweetness – Green Anaheims have a subtle sweetness that complements sugar and fruit-based jams.

    • Earthy, Fresh Flavor – Their mild and slightly smoky taste adds depth to a chili jam without overpowering it.

    • Good Texture – Anaheim peppers have a soft yet firm flesh that breaks down well when cooked, helping create a smooth and thick jam.

    • Pairs Well with Fruits & Citrus – Their mild flavor blends beautifully with ingredients like lime, orange, mango, or even apples for a balanced sweet-heat jam.
